Should I just go skinhead? or should I wait until my hairdresser has the time to cut my hair?
Me now.
Me without hair and beard, but with a stupid moustache.

I have a friend who does pretty much that. He shaves his beard off once a year, and cuts his hair every two years. He then donates his hair.

I have a friend like that too. But he shaves his face every day and shaves his head every 8 mos. He doesnt donate it, hes just lazy and doesnt like to pay for haircuts. It works for him.

If you wish! I was simply pointing out that there's not normally a waiting list at a barber shop. Your hairdresser must be SUPER busy.

Ahh right. Well, she's not, but she's the only one I'll ever let touch my hair (apart from me that is).

Yezzir, that's from our trip to California over winter break. Now that I think of it, this is the only picture that exists of me that's less than five years old (I hate getting my pic taken which is why I look so awkward in this one, my mom bitched at me to let her take it).
Should also mention I'm 5'8 irl, that Porsche is just freaking tiny.

Laird, you came to the wrong place for critiques on style. I have referred your post to Jezebel for their consideration. Prepare for the onslaught.

Well, it all depends on what you're after. Age aside, I prefer the longer hair.

The same gal has been cutting my hair for going on 40 years. We went to different high schools together and she practiced on me when she was in barber school. She hasn't cut it lately though... Just turned 55 and no(t much) gray yet!
Gratuitous Porsche pic. My sister getting a ride with Otis Chandler in his 917/30K at Riverside raceway back in 1980. I'm the skinny kid with the big nose (and hair!).

Dude that's a glorious head of hair! I've only recently ( since last Christmas) started growing out mine so I've got a bit of a ways to go before I get anywhere near your level. Out of curiosity do you find having hair that long to be annoying or distracting? Mine's about collarbone length now so it still kinda hangs in my face and gets in the way. Girls have told me that the longer it gets the easier it is to deal with (I guess it gets weighed down and less likely to get blown around?) and I was wondering if that's been your experience.
And that's so cool you were around for that era, I would've loved to be there to see these cars racing in the flesh. The museum we went to had all kinds of vintage Porsches (a 934, a few 917's, an SCCA 914) and was kind of cool and sad at the same time; you were grateful to see these cars in person but felt like they should be out getting flogged on track instead of hidden away under lights.

While I was in San Fransisco some random dude at a record store asked me what the name of my band was lol. He was like, 'well you look like a dude who plays in a band' and was legit bummed out when I said I wasn't.

I can understand that, the thing is that I have to show the clerk ID if I'm buying beer or something, and that's quite anoying.

Collar length is the worst to deal with. Too short for a ponytail but long enough to get in your face.
Once it's long enough to put in a ponytail it's easy. Got to be careful about things like slamming it in the car door though.
Mine is spiderweb fine so any stray hairs will float around my face in the slightest breeze. That can be annoying, trying to figure out where it's coming from in order to put it back.
Otis drove his cars. He also had a 935 and a 917/10 like the one in your picture. He was a big guy so he had to have a special door made with a bubble in the top to clear his helmet.
If you want to see them on the track, Rennsport is coming up.

My problem is my hair is super-thick so it doesn't really blow around that much, but when it does I get what feels like a blanket got thrown across my face. Same thing with looking down, like 80% of my peripheral vision disappears because my heavy hair falls forward. Price of looking so good, I suppose.
Man I'd love to go to Rennsport (or kind of event like that), only problem is I live in the middle of Indiana haha. I was amazed at the choice you guys have in Northern California; our winter break trip was San Fransisco and Sonoma, Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, and a bunch of really cool museums (including Canapa Motorsport who own that Georg Loos 934, definitely worth visiting if you haven't) were all within a couple hours' drive. We've got IMS and the 500 and Brickyard every year but that's about it unless you like dirt track racing up north. Even autocrosses seem few and far between. People here like their trucks more than cars it seems.
